Meet Your Pros:
James Ignatowich
James Ignatowich was raised in Darien, CT but now currently lives in Delray Beach, FL. A tennis standout, he was once ranked top 5 in the US National High School Recruiting Rankings. Ignatowich attended Vanderbilt University to play collegiate tennis for two years.
Thanks to his natural athleticism and aggressive play style, he quickly shot to the top of the PPA's rankings and in February 2023, he claimed his first PPA titles at the Indoor National Championships in men’s pro singles and mixed pro doubles with fellow Team Selkirk’s Catherine Parenteau.
James frequently reaches the finals in both Men's Doubles and Mixed Doubles. He was also drafted for the 2022 Major League Pickleball Newport Tournament for the Ranchers who went on to take the $100,000 prize. For the 2025 MLP Season, James has been drafted to play for Chicago Slice.
James is currently sponsored by Selkirk, OS1st, and Licart. He also hosts his own podcast: The James Ignatowich Show, where he offers coaching advice and great insights into professional pickleball.
Sam Kim
Sam is an IPTPA certified pickleball pro instructor and has been teaching pickleball for 3 years to all ages and skill levels. In the beginning, he played tennis and eventually taught tennis for a few years.
Sam transferred to pickleball 4 years ago and has medaled in many tournaments in the Northeast. As an avid young pickleball athlete, he has also played pro tournaments all around the country.
According to DUPR rating, he is one of the top pickleball players in New England. For the past two years, he has been a pickleball teaching pro at Bloomfield Tennis Club.
